Kickoff Event for UK’s new Certificate for Nonprofit Professional

As part of the work on Transformative Learning led by Dr. Deanna Sellnow, Assistant Provost in the Division of Undergraduate Education, a new credential is being offered here at UK. This is a professional certificate that is offered by the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance and the University of Kentucky is an approved academic provider for the Certified NonProfit Professional (CNP). This program is particularly targeted for 2nd semester freshmen, sophomores, and juniors at UK. Poster for Kickoff Event "Refugee Life in America"The launch of the CNP program here at UK will be celebrated at a kickoff event on Wednesday, November 12th at 7 p.m. in the Presentation U! area in the basement of the William T. Young Library. Barbara Kleine, Director of the Kentucky Refugee Ministries will be bringing in Nicole Tshibangu, a resettled refugee from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to speak about her experiences as a refugee in Africa, and her resettlement in Lexington. We are looking forward to hearing her story and insights.
