Nearly 9 million older adults are at risk of hunger. Together, we can make a difference for hungry older adults. And you can make a difference with just a few mouse clicks. From October 14 through 21, the University of Kentucky will compete against four other schools from across the country to win a grant to start a Campus Kitchen: a student volunteer organization that provides free, healthful meals to Lexington senior citizens. The top three schools with the most votes at the end of the voting period will win a $5,000 grant sponsored by AARP Foundation to fight older adult hunger in their communities.
Watch the video below to learn more about why Lexington would benefit from a Campus Kitchen and how our undergraduates here at UK can lead efforts to combat food waste and hunger – then vote!
Vote for UK’s video once a day until October 21 at http://www.campuskitchens.org/aarp/. Help the undergraduate students from UK Dietetics & Human Nutrition to win a $5,000 grant to start a Campus Kitchen at the University of Kentucky!
