University of Kentucky Undergraduate Student Researchers Present at the 2013 Posters-at-the-Capitol

There’s all the grueling work – the long hours and personal sacrifice, the moments of doubt, the proving and re-proving to yourself the study was done using the best possible methods and the outcomes are sound, and then…..there’s the joy, even elation, at telling the story proudly.  This is what 16 top students from The University of Kentucky will be doing on Thursday, Feb. 21, in Frankfort, KY at an annual event called Posters-at-the-Capitol

Posters-at-the-Capitol, an event hosted collaboratively by Eastern Kentucky University, Kentucky Community and Technical College System, Kentucky State University, Morehead State University, Murray State University, Northern Kentucky University, University of Kentucky, University of Louisville, and Western Kentucky University, is intended to help members of Kentucky’s legislature and the Governor better understand the importance of involving undergraduates in research, scholarly, and creative work.

Organized by Jody Cofer of Murray State University, and a team of individuals from each of the KY institutions of higher education listed above, Posters-at-the-Capitol provides a venue for undergraduate student researchers to present their data in poster format to KY representatives and others on a day dedicated to undergraduate research.  In many cases, these projects focus on issues critical to the advancement of Kentuckians.

UK President Eli Capilouto plans to be present to cheer on UK students and all participants, as will many other administrators form colleges and universities across the state.

The table below shows the names of the student presenters, along with their majors, faculty mentors, and project titles.  Good luck to all participants and congratulations!
