Recruiting for K Crew and student success

Friends and Colleagues,

Lauren Goodpaster and Nancy Stephens

Greetings from the Office of New Student and Parent Programs! We hope that you’re having a great semester so far. Believe it or not, we are already planning for K Week in August!  We know that without our campus partners K Week would not be such a success.  The same is true for K Week’s student leaders, our K Crew.

K Crew leaders play an integral part in welcoming our new students to campus each fall.  Every spring up to 500 students are selected to serve as K Crew leaders for UK’s new students.  Each K Crew member leads and mentors a K Team of approximately 10 new students during K Week and throughout the school year.  During K Week, K Crew leaders facilitate five different meetings as well as take their K Teams to various programs and events.  During the year, K Crew leaders work with their K Teams to make sure their transition to UK is a successful one.  This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our new students and have fun doing so!

Please help us recruit new K Crew leaders.  Applications are due this Friday, February 15th  download the .pdf file here. Will you please take a few minutes to think about some outstanding students with whom you have worked or advised and encourage them to apply for K Crew?  We would certainly appreciate it!  You can let students know they can visit our website to learn more about the application:  I have attached the application for you in this e-mail if you’d like to send it directly to students.

Again, we can’t thank you all enough for your continued support and partnerships with K Week. We look forward to another great K Week working with you!

All the best,

Lauren Goodpaster
